Are there any home remedies for gout in the foot?
I know a person that cant afford the medicine needed.I cant at this time either.
You don’t need a stocking, or prescription medicine to control the gout in your foot.
Some people are more susceptible to gout than others, and to control it and stop it coming back all the time (because you won’t be able to get rid of it forever) you need to make some changes to your diet.
The best things you can do right now are stop eating red meat, cutting your servings of white meat down to once a day in small amounts, upping your intake of water, and introducing a truckload of cherries to your diet.
You’ve got to keep hydrated at all times as this will slow the crystallization of the uric acid in your body which is causing the pain and swelling. The cherries (eat them raw or drink lots of 100% cherry juice) will help dissipate the uric acid from your body.

Hope that helps.

hi, I’m sure gout is caused by poor circulation of the blood, it might be worth asking your doctor for a cheaper remedy. I know aspirin thins the blood, and inceases circulation, by thining the blood, but I wouldn’t like to be the person to prescribe this as a remedy. Some people say wearing a stockinette sock (medical type) helps also.

a low purine diet. (which is quite restrictive) gout is caused by a build up of uric acid in the blood stream. the medication is available in generic and shouldn’t be that costly.
