My brother-in-law just told me he has gout. It’s particles that get in your bones and he said the pain is just terrible. I asked what do the Doctors say. They can’t do much for him. He is going to be 67 this month. He’s pretty active and a busy guy. I asked him if he takes calcium. Would that help him? He described it almost like major arthritis pain, but just varies of where the pain will occur on his body. Any ideas out there for him, please.

Hello,
With proper treatment, most people who have gout are able to control their symptoms and live productive lives. Gout can be treated with one or a combination of therapies. The goals of treatment are to ease the pain associated with acute attacks, to prevent future attacks, and to avoid the formation of tophi and kidney stones. Successful treatment can reduce discomfort caused by the symptoms of gout, as well as long-term damage to the affected joints. Treatment will help to prevent disability due to gout.
Herbal and homeopathic remedies have been used for centuries to treat a number of conditions, including gout. Harpagophytum procumbens (indigenous to the Kalahari Desert and is exclusive to Africa) has been used for many years to promote joint health and stability.
Glucosamine sulphate has been approved for the promotion of joint and cartilage health in more than 70 countries throughout the world, while Boswellia serata extracts address swelling joints, pain and tender tissues naturally, without side effects.
It is recommended that he lose weight (if he is overweight); limit alcohol consumption; and avoid or limit high-purine foods, which can increase uric acid levels.
Hope that helps
Good Luck to both of you
