What can I do About Misdiagnosis?

For 2 yrs even after a x-ray, I have been treated for gout arthritis and finally sent for another x-ray to see if my joints had fused together. Only to find out my foot was fractured. For 2 yrs I have been perscribed anti inflamatries Pain Killers and stomach protectors, Now I have to wait to see a specialist. still taking all the pills perscribed.

This is a difficult situation. I think that you need to check and see if your foot had been broken 2 years ago, or if it was something due to the injury that originally happened that caused the foot to break. I would definately get copies of both X-rays and both reports. It may not be a bad idea to speak with an attorney regarding this issue. However, if you are in the US, I think statute of limitations is 2 years. Make sure that you have copies of all things cincerned with the foot. I would also include copies of all bills, including those for medical equipment and prescriptions. Sounds like a really raw deal for you. Hopefully the bones have not healed incorrectly, and you can avoid surgery. But, I would check with a specialist and lawyer

Hassle them until it is resolved to your satisfaction. It happens to often nowadays. Best of luck. Can you not stop taking the anti inflammatory and stomach protectors?? It is obvious they are not doing any good.

Well first you need to get a solicitor thats if you want to sue the hospital trust,i went through all this 5 years and won its was very simular to you,but it does take yrs thou for all this to finish, but its dfiantly worth a go as at the end off the day it was neglagance.Wait and see your specialist see wht they have to say, then if you want to go through with sueing them do it.And i would also try and stop taking all this medication to if you can,as they may affect your liver.Good Luck
